    Skal man fjerne rust effektivt må man enten kjøpe lurium på flaske, eller få tak i fosforsyre eller saltsyre med inhibitor. Vi bruker dette på laben, og det funker. Nok avsporing

    Først og fremst kondolerer. Og lykke til med salget, jeg tenker det bør være mulig å få 25-30000 kr for 156 i god stand, EU ok og med 140000 km. Lignende 156 sedan selespeed solgt for rundt 35-40000 kr i høst på Finn.no. 166 uten EU er mer vanskelig, bør vel selges som reparasjonsobjekt.

    Finn en gammel tannbørste som du klipper hodet av, og lag deg en tilpasset plast-skrape. En ting er løsemidler, men ingenting er som elbow grease
  8. Min Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 JTS Selespeed Distinctive ble født i Napoli i mars 2004. Den har frekventert det tekniske forumet med sine motor- og airbaglamper, barnesykdommer som foreldrene ikke fikk vaksine mot. Noen "røde hunder" til tross, den er jo blitt litt av i skreppe med årene! Ni år gammel, sier du? Det skulle man ikke tro. Stort sett oppvokst i byen med asfalt under dekkene, men Speedo er også en habil turkamerat. To par slalom og to par langrenn, pluss oppakning til 3 personer og snekkerverktøy ble slukt med tvilsom glans i alle hulrom sist påske. Så kan dere kløner med SUV i Hemsedal stå der og ikke rekke opp til takstativene deres. Den liker seg også på fjellet, og har utviklet et godt forhold til lyng, fjellbjørk og Synnfjellet. Se bare her!

    Da hadde det gått et år siden forrige oljeskift, men bare drøyt 3000 km. Bilen blir dessverre lite brukt nå som jeg pendler med bastarden, og Fruen kjører annenhver dag til jobb. Uansett, 10W-60 må det være, og maskina synger som vanlig. For øvrig noenlunde bilder av understellet 😎

    https://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/1900-2000-2600-1950-1968/433937-history-2600-engine.html#post6385945 Noen interessante betraktninger om 2600-motoren (fra en som virker som han har peiling): Sitat: "According to pages 87-89 of Alfa Romeo engineer Giuseppe Busso's book "Nel cuore dell'Alfa", discussions started in late 1955 with Hruska and Satta about building a new 6 cylinder engine with a displacement of about 2.5 liters. The goal was to extend the 1900 model line and have an engine/car that could compete directly with Lancia. The development project was assigned to the you engineer Ciacca. By about mid-1956, good progress was made on the new engine, when the decision was made that the 102 series would get a 4-cyl engine. Busso hints that the body weight of the 102 model line was much to heavy for the 2 liter engine. I saw this comment as giving reason to speculation that maybe the 102 model line initially should have had a 6-cyl engine. As I pointed out in this thread, according to Busso, a 2.5 liter 6-cyl engine seemed to hit a sweet spot with trade-offs in engine design. What is really special about the 2600 engine is that it is one of the very few short-stroke Alfa engines (bore = 83 mm, stroke = 79.6 mm). The only other short-stroke engine preceding the 2600 engine I'm aware of is the 12-cyl "Tipo 160" race engine (bore = 68 mm, stroke = 57 mm) used in the 1951-54 time frame, which supposedly ran up to 10,000 RPM. The short-stoke design gave me reason to believe that the 2600 engine, at least conceptionally (and like the 160 engine), may initially have been designed to run at very high RPMs. Alfa historian Patrick Italiano wrote me in an e-mail a few years ago that he had interviewed and Alfa engineer (whose name I cannot find) who had casually mentioned, in passing, that the 2600 engine had such strong third-order harmonics above 7,000 RPM (at about 7,200 RPM, if I recall correctly) that the vibrations became so violent that the flywheel on more than one engine broke off and was flying across the engine test stand (maybe that's where the name came from). Either way, I took these comments as proof that Alfa tried to run the engine at RPMs much higher than what we got to see in the production models.A couple of side notes: Third order harmonics (which is 3 times the normal frequency) are quite common on straight-6 engines (because the torsional forces are about 120 degrees or a third of a circle) -- which is the reason why many of these engines, including the 2600 engine, have harmonic dampers installed at the front end of the crankshaft. In case of the 2600 engine, the harmonic damper is a metal disc with vulcanized rubber attaching a second metal disk, namely the crankshaft pulley for the belt driving the electrical charging system and the water pump. The function of the harmonic damper is to counterbalance, by means of differences in inertia between the inner and outer disc and the elasticity of the rubber, harmonic frequencies on the crankshaft, which leads to friction in the rubber that is further converted to heat. That being said, Sir Harry Ricardo pointed out even before WWII in his book "The High-Speed Internal Combustion Engine" that 3-1/2 order harmonics are much more dangerous than third order harmonics. The second note is that "High-speed" in Ricardo's book title refers to maximum piston velocity, which sets limitations to RPMs both in terms of friction as well as possible lubrication failure of the oil film. Given the stroke of 79.6 mm, I believe the 2600 engine at 10,000 RPM would have been well within the maximum limits (at about 80% of max. piston speed that was acceptable at the time, if I recall correctly). It is unclear to me as to whether the technical difficulties due to harmonics in the 2600 engine were already known at the time the decision was made to give the 102 series a 4-cyl engine, or if that was an economic decision. Still, I cannot deny a hunch I have that the Alfa engineers involved with the 2600 engine design either were unable to reach their initial design goals, or could not deliver them within a given time frame and/or budget, and that therefore (for practical reasons and as a compromise), the 2600 engine was detuned and limited to 6,500 RPMs. As many of you know, Adrian Ratcliff was well known to race "Piggy", a 102 Sprint with 2600 engine, and regularly rev'ed the engine above 9,000 RPM. Adrian once told me that he used the 6,500 RPM red line as down-shift point, and that the engine had some violent behavior in the 7,000-7,500 RPM band that he thought was thrust reversal in the intake manifold (he used Weber 40 carbs on an unmodified Solex intake manifold).Further worth noting is that Busso mentioned that the 5-gear box that was introduced in 1958 with the 102 (2000) model line was designed and refined in 1957. I have no doubts that this gearbox was designed with the 2600 engine -- and possibly race applications -- in mind. On pages 97-102, he describes that the 2600 engine was road tested in 1960 in 102 cars, and that in the same year, Satta gave the OK for producing the 106 series of cars, which was introduced in Spider, Sprint and Berlina versions at the Salon of Geneva in Mar-1962. It is further clear from several prototypes Alfa had built in 1962-63 (and a conversation I had with Ercole Spada, the designer of the 2600 SZ), that Alfa desperately wanted a production car that ran faster than 200 km/h or 125 mph. This goal was not achieved (although the 2600 SZ came close). My opinion is that this goal possibly was not reached because the 2600 engine did not live up to its full potential. I recall from some virtual dyno calculations I made years ago that, in theory, the 2600 engine might be capable of producing about 300 HP @ 8,000 RPM -- more than double of what the stock Sprint/Spider engine produces."
